Janet Bristoll began her career as a painter many years ago.  She has always painted to express her deeply spiritual nature.  Her process of creating a painting is compulsive as well as meditative.

At the age of 60, she embarked on a Fine Arts Foundation course at the Carmarthenshire College of Technology and Art in 2002, followed by Distinctions and Merits on the HND in Art & Design (Fine Art).  Janet completed her BA Honours degree at the Welsh College of Art in 2005.

She has lived in Wales for the past 30 years.Her paintings reflect living and thriving in the welsh countryside, a Celtic atmosphere rooted in nature and still very much in the world.

Her work has been shown in galleries throughout Wales and the UK for a number of years.  Recently, her work was exhibited at the Guildhall Gallery, Cardigan where she has held two previous shows.  Following the most recent exhibition, she was commissioned to paint four additional work.  Many of her paintings are now in private collections and she is regularly commissioned by individuals to create new pieces for their homes and businesses.  Everyone who has bought one of Janet's paintings has wanted another.

All of her paintings have a story which grows from her personal experiences and responses to emotional and spiritual inspirations.  She pours her energy and passion into her work which is tempered by a conscious softness. 

Janet is currently working with young people in Llandysul on a graffiti art project.
